The Walt Disney Company Investor’s Day announcements has the internet going crazy and it’s not hard to see why. The giant media company has announced titles that will make the most ardent fanboys stand up and take notice. But is there anything for the horror fans? You bet there is!

NOTE: Not everything on this list is horror. We’ve simply included those projects we thought might interest fans with darker tastes alongside those that strike a nostalgic chord. Descriptions of the series/films are taken from the press release provided.

Lucasfilm on Disney+

willow: willow, set decades after Ron Howard’s 1988 movie, continues the spirit of adventure, heroics and humor of the original film in this new series debuting on Disney+ in 2022. Warwick Davis will return in the role of the great sorcerer, Willow Ufgood, with Jon Chu (director of the groundbreaking “Crazy Rich Asians”) directing the pilot.

Lucasfilm Features

រដ្ឋ Indiana Jones: Lucasfilm is currently in pre-production on the next installment of រដ្ឋ Indiana Jones. At the helm is James Mangold, director of the Academy Award®-winning “Ford v Ferrari,” and Indy himself, Harrison Ford, will be back to continue his iconic character’s journey. Indy will arrive ខែ​កក្កដា 2022.

Children of Blood & Bone: The Lucasfilm catalog is expanding further with a story that will introduce a new hero and explore an original world that feels perfectly paired with Lucasfilm storytelling: Tomi Adeyemi’s New York Times bestselling novel Children of Blood & Bone. The story will center on a young African girl’s heart-racing quest to restore
magic to her forsaken people, the Maji. Lucasfilm will partner with 20th Century Studios on this coming-of-age adventure.

Disney on Disney+

Hocus Pocus 2: Hocus Pocus ២, exclusively on Disney+, is the spooky sequel to the 1993 Halloween cult classic “Hocus Pocus.” Adam Shankman is set to direct.

ឃោរឃៅ: ឃោរឃៅ dives into the rebellious early days of one of the most notorious—and notoriously fashionable—villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. Oscar® winner Emma Stone stars as Estella, aka Cruella, opposite Oscar winner Emma Thompson as the Baroness, the head of a prestigious fashion house who plucks Estella from obscurity as a burgeoning designer. It’s set against the backdrop of 1970s punk-rock London, and director Craig Gillespie delivers a unique take on this one-of-a-kind villain. Cruella is coming in 2021.

Marvel on Disney+

ច័ន្ទនីន។: ច័ន្ទនីន។ is a new series created for Disney+. Directed by Mohamed Diab, the action-adventure features
a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters who appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography.

Marvel Features Films

វេជ្ជបណ្ឌិតចម្លែកក្នុងពហុវណ្ណៈ: Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness, debuting ខែមីនា 25, 2022, is currently in production starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Xochitl Gomez joins them, portraying America Chavez, a new fan-favorite from the comics. Directed by Sam Raimi,
the mind-bending adventure connects to the events of “WandaVision” and the upcoming Spider-Man film.

Blade: Blade is a new feature film starring Mahershala Ali in the title role.

អ៊ី: បុរសចុងក្រោយ: អ៊ី: បុរសចុងក្រោយ is a new FX drama series based on DC Comics’ acclaimed series of the same name by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra. អ៊ី: បុរសចុងក្រោយ traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome but for one cisgender man and his pet monkey. The series follows the survivors in this new world as they struggle with their efforts to restore what was lost and the opportunity to build something better. Eliza Clark serves as showrunner and an executive producer along with Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Mari Jo Winkler-Ioffreda, Vaughn and Melina Maksoukas. The series stars Diane Lane, Ashley Romans, Ben Schnetzer, Olivia Thirlby, Amber Tamblyn, Marin Ireland, Diana Bang, Elliot Fletcher and Juliana Canfield. FX Series in Development

ជនបរទេស: FX is moving quickly to bring audiences the first television series based on one of the greatest science fiction horror classics ever made: ជនបរទេស. ជនបរទេស will be helmed by Fargo and Legion’s Noah Hawley stepping into the creator/executive producer chair, and FX is in advanced negotiations with Academy Award winner, Sir Ridley Scott—director of the first ជនបរទេស film and the sequel, ជនបរទេស: កតិកាសញ្ញា—to join the project as an Executive Producer. Set not too far into our future, it’s the first ជនបរទេស story set on Earth—and by blending both the timeless horror of the first “Alien” film with the non-stop action of the second, it’s going to be a scary thrill ride that will blow people back in their seats.
